Keyboard Action in the House: Albert Farinas

In his own words, Albert Farinas says his music is a mix of House/ Afrocuban/ Electronica, and indeed it is just that. An alumni of Miami Coral Park Senior High School, Albert was always into the dance music of this era. He is of Cuban decent, and wanted to mix the cuban conga bass beats with Miami's loved house sounds.

I am also of Cuban decent and enjoy the sensual latin flavor in the background of his beats. The house tone is prominent, making the jam perfect for the Miami nightlife. His talent is aparent, and at only 20 years old, he has learned to use his talents with a meer keyboard and editing software.

I must mention, two of his singles focus on the age old addiction - sex.

A woman moaning in the background of his song "F***ing Spree" is just the tip of the iceberg. When Albert displays the most sexuality is in his single "Please F**k Me", where, as you may guess, there is an amazing house voice begging to squezzed, felt, bit, rubbed, licked and more. Lets say, sexed up in every which way. Riskay? A bit. But it's Miami, I think we can handle this ;)

Trust me when you hear these beats, you'll be thinking like I am, "If this kid had the professional equiptment he'd like, what boundary could stop him?!"

Albert Farinas' Music Myspace is an eleborate display of his most popular beats, and his technology driven career. A must hear!

House, Experimental, Bring it on!: Alej Varez

DJ Alej Varez is a sound guru of the most addicting kind! With his ambient tones of techno and the 305's very own Pit Bull mixed in together, this young man has proven to change the face of house music in the 21st century. He has the down to earth tones that everyone can dance to, with the hip hop bass to continue his flow.

I just ran into DJ Alej Varez on myspace, and have never seen him perform before; I must admit though, I'm very impressed with the twist he crafted in his mixes. The beats are very "Miami Scene" with his spanish influence, which shows his local flavor. Hitting up Downtown Miami's hot spots like Area 51, Bricks, ParkWest, and Nocturnal, this DJ has it going for him.

Pictured above, DJ Alej Varez with record label partner, CR (his nickname to rep the record label) are throwing down a mix at a Miami nightclub.

His song "Good Life CREME Remix" uses the sensual voice of a house music singer with the back beats of a popular spanish dancing song. Tied in with the ambient house tones, the two combine into a ferocious dance beat. This is one sound you don't get too often, and I doubt any Miami clubbing local could disagree. Take a look at Alej Varez's Music Myspace to get into it!

Head Bangers Unite: Metal in Miami: Maniac Christ

That's right, "YOU CAN'T TOUCH THIS", displays Fernando, lead singer of the metal band Maniac Christ! This scream filled band will get you right off your seat and mosh pitting even if you never have!

Known for their performances in Battle of the Bands since 2005, Maniac Christ has been enjoyed plenty at Studio A in downtown Miami and have performed for private events. Their sound is modern metal, and well, the lead singer has an uncanny resemblance to Jesus, if we visualize Jesus the way most illustrations do. Pictured here is Fernando with his best friend, holding the holy cross. It is unknown of the bands religious beliefs, but it does seem they have prosperity on their side; the band started off performing in the school auditorium at Miami Coral Park Senior High School, and has since booked 3 shows with Battle of the Bands, finishing in the Top 3 each time.

A perfected mix of guitar and drums, with deep vocals and eerie shreaks, the band has a sound of terror, perfect to jack you up for your afternoon work out. If you'd like to hear their first released single, "Grab it by the Horns", check out Maniac Christ's Music Myspace! They will have your full attention - I promise.

Musicians Quote to Live by ...

"One thing I've learned in my travels
is that people have more in common
than they want to admit.
So we might as well learn to live together.
One world, one love, one blood."

Rock: Alternative meets Hip Hop: Alucard

Alucard is Miami's newest alternative fast paced band, who has the young spunk and enlighted skills fans are looking for. Their music connects to the young folks, as well as the alternative rock adults, who are into fun and fast lyrics, with a new school beat. Performing one of their hit songs, "Everyday Life" (above), Alucard shows their spunk and flow for the musc they have created.

Alucard = Dracula, spelled backwards ;)

Yes, what you might not know about Alucard is that their name is actually based on "a fictional character in the Hellsing anime and manga series created by Kohta Hirano. He is the main protagonist of the Hellsing franchise" (Wikipedia); "The most powerful warrior of the Hellsing organization, Alucard is not a mere vampire, it is suggested that he is one of the most powerful vampires."

Alucard states in their personal bio on myspace.com, "Originally named alucard, the band was founded in 1998 (yes 1998) on the premises that a genuine, fresh and unique sound portraying the everyday struggle of youth in Miami was not only necessary, but long overdue." In my opinion, that describes their musical purpose in the industry in one clean sweep. The band has a kick in more ways than average, their sound is new age and funky; keeping the crowd singing the wild lyrics all while jumping up and down to the earthy beats. Alucard is a wonderful display of Miami's current culture and attration in the rock field. Rocking out, in order of appearance, are the amazing band members (as stated by Alucard themselves, in their own words!):

* Zaigone - Boomz n Bapz

* LeveL - Vokal n Gitah

* E.P.O.D. - Leed Gitah

* Duke - El Bajo

* Roly - Managah

(Loving the play on the overly said staff terms .. Absolutely loving it!)
